Job Summary
Assist the Clinical Manager in developing PI Plan initiatives, managing personnel, budgets, and strategic planning to promote efficient nursing care. Provide feedback, counseling, and performance evaluations for assigned staff while ensuring they maintain necessary competencies and ethical conduct. Collaborate on models of patient care delivery, interview for vacancies, and coordinate nursing care with physicians and other healthcare disciplines. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, JCAHO accreditation, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining a safe therapeutic environment. Participate in councils, task forces, and performance improvement activities to correct variances and simplify work processes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- BSN
- Minimum of two (2) years in clinical nursing practice
- One (1) year experience in leadership or charge role
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing, healthcare, and organizational systems, and strategies
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in performance improvement theory and application
- Knowledge of JCAHO standards and other external organizations related to healthcare evaluation and accreditation
- Experience with the methodologies and processes related to organizational financial viability
- Well-developed communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- Certification in area of specialty within 6 months of eligibility
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
Desired Qualifications
- BSN is strongly preferred
- Commensurate combination of RN experience and Nursing education (ADN, Diploma in Nursing) and commitment to complete BSN may be considered in lieu of BSN upon hire
- Membership in professional organizations
