Assistant Night Manager

Job Summary
Act as Manager on Duty during night shifts, ensuring operational continuity, conducting the night audit with the Finance team, and managing guest requests, complaints, and unforeseen incidents. Coordinate room allocations, walk-ins, and guest relocations while monitoring lobby, driveway, and guest areas for cleanliness and compliance with safety procedures. Patrol hotel premises with Security to ensure orderliness, respond to emergencies effectively, and supervise shift handover procedures for accurate documentation. Provide department orientation and on-the-job training aligned with service standards, monitor team appearance and professionalism, and communicate critical overnight issues to relevant department heads. Maintain complete knowledge of emergency protocols, ensure energy-saving and access control procedures are followed, and report for duty on time in a clean uniform.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Front Office operations
- At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience during night shifts
- Familiarity with hotel emergency handling, guest relations, and overnight operations
- Guest-oriented with a strong commitment to service excellence
- Calm, confident, and able to make decisions during emergencies or critical situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to supervise, guide, and motivate the night team toward service excellence
- Knowledge of Opera PMS and experience in night audit processes
- Able to work independently and manage cross-departmental coordination during night hours
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to maintain accurate records and reports
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Physically fit to stand or walk for extended periods during patrols or guest assistance
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, including assisting in evacuations if necessary
- Clear vision and hearing to monitor hotel environments and guest interactions
- Capability to operate computer systems and perform administrative tasks during night audit and reporting duties
- Report for duty on time wearing clean and complete uniform at all times
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene
Desired Qualifications
- Additional language proficiency beyond English and the local language
- Advanced knowledge of hotel systems and reporting tools
- Experience in training and onboarding new night shift team members
- Understanding of energy-saving procedures and access control systems in hotels
- Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
