Assistant Miller - Day Shift

Job Summary
Support the shift miller by running the cleaning house, setting up machinery to maximize results, and ensuring wheat and flour meet specifications while following Food Safety Policies and GMPs. Complete sanitation duties, IPM tasks, and preventative checks on mill repairs. Accurately follow wheat blending schedules, perform product testing and monitoring, and maintain documentation using Centerline and 5S standards. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing root causes and communicating effectively with management and team members. Work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to ensure reliable attendance and punctuality.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)
- Basic skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use new computer programs
- Must be able to read, interpret instruction and technology and communicate effectively in English
- Must be authorized to work in the Unites states without sponsorship now and in the future
- Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days, on rotating or varying shifts (days, evenings, and nights) as well as overtime, weekend or holiday work
- Must be willing to work extended hours during scheduled and unscheduled repair days, maintenance shutdowns, and other operational events to support plant requirements
- Must be willing to get cross-trained in at least one other position for development within the facility and to provide any relief duties as needed
- Must be willing to work off-shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins when business needs are required
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection, hands gloves and, at required times, a face respirator)
- Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include: Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather) Indoor/Outdoor environment Dusty environment (to include Wheat/Gluten allergens) Noisy environment Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes Elevated Places
- Ability to perform work safely may require: Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levels
- Ability to perform work safely may require: Frequently climbing stairs and/or ladders
- Ability to perform work safely may require: Occasionally lifting, shoveling and/or carrying
- Ability to perform work safely may require: Occasionally pushing and/or pulling equipment
- Ability to perform work safely may require: Working in confined spaces or elevated places

Desired Qualifications
- Good to have: 2+ years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting ability
- Understanding of safety behaviors within production environment
- Mill Production experience
