Job Summary
Lead and direct employees in the Mill department while optimizing production processes to meet daily goals. Enforce safety rules, monitor the workplace for hazards, and implement new safety programs. Verify quality of parts using the Quality Assurance Program and ensure equipment maintenance. Organize shift transitions, manage inventory functions, and maintain a clean department through 6S initiatives. Assist the Mill Supervisor as needed. This on-floor role requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and standing for the entire shift. Candidates must be CPR and First Aid certified, LOTO trained, and hold a forklift certification. Work includes potential exposure to noise, wood dust, and carbon monoxide.
Required Qualifications
- Able to lift and carry 25 pounds constantly
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently
- Able to stand, walk, bend, twist for the entire shift
- Able to read a tape measure
- Able and willing to work outside normal shift schedule, up to 7 days a week if needed
- CPR and First Aid certified within 1 year
- Possess basic computer skills
- LOTO trained for all machines in mill within 3 months
- Forklift certified through Quality One within 3 months
- Able to communicate effectively with basic English
