Job Summary
Operate tube forming equipment to produce ERW steel tubing and oversee mill operations while adhering to safety and ISO standards. Perform complete and partial changeovers, adjust parameters on the Tube Cutoff, and set up the de-dimpler to remove dimples from round tube ends. Monitor mill speeds, check length tolerances, and inspect surfaces for defects to maintain quality per ASTM specifications. Maintain tube straightness using sizing stands and perform weld checks using a hydraulic press. Work the 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. shift in Chicago Heights, IL, with availability for other shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong verbal and math skills
- Able to read shop floor computer schedules
- Able to work overtime and/or various shifts
- Able to work in an environment without climate control
- Able to stand 8-12 hours per day
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Computer literate
- Work well in a team-based environment
- Open availability to work other shifts as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Steel industry experience preferred
