Job Summary
Instruct athletes with guidance from the head coach to prepare them for competition, demonstrating leadership by implementing program expectations. Attend all practices and games, assisting with the set up and take down of equipment. Prepare the team for competition while representing the school community with integrity when interacting with leagues, organizations, schools, and media outlets. This seasonal role begins in August or October and requires a high school diploma or GED, previous coaching experience, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive team environment. Candidates must complete mandatory background checks and adhere to Colorado Education Laws and school policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the sports complex, field, or court indoors and/or outdoors
- Concussion Training or willing to obtain
- Adherence to all ACA policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies
- Adherence to Colorado Education Laws
- Must undergo a comprehensive background check, which includes reviewing criminal records and may require fingerprinting
- No convictions for violent crimes, such as assault or domestic violence
- No convictions for offenses against children, including abuse or endangerment
- No drug-related offenses, particularly those involving the distribution or trafficking of controlled substances
- No certain felony convictions, depending on their nature and recency
- No history of certain misdemeanors that may raise concerns about a candidate's suitability for working in an educational environment
- Submission of application signifies consent to background check process and understanding of criteria
Desired Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the sport
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
