Job Summary
Assistant Coach aids the head coach with all areas of team administration and management, including practice sessions, conditioning workouts, monitoring student-athletes' academic progress, and evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes. Responsibilities include assisting in coordinating team travel, arranging competitive schedules, organizing and scheduling practice sessions, maintaining recruiting databases, preserving files of opponents, implementing public relations programs, managing sport camps/clinics, and assisting in fundraising and booster events. Enforces team rules and coordinates transportation of athletes to events; requires ability to travel and operate a vehicle, and familiarity with NAIA/NCAA rules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One (1) year previous high school, collegiate or higher-level coaching and playing experience
- General knowledge of NAIA and NCAA rules
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours
- Must have a State of Texas or Arkansas class "C" vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Acceptable driving record and periodic completion of van safety course
