Assistant Men's and Women's Swim Coach

Job Summary

Manage and guide the competitive Men's and Women's Swimming program by implementing NCAA, Conference Carolinas, and university regulations. Lead team and individual coaching sessions, monitor study halls, and prioritize student-athlete retention while fostering a positive campus culture. Assist with recruiting visits, evaluate athletes in person or via video, and build relationships with high school clubs and community sponsors. Plan home and away contests, organize swim camps, and handle game day duties as needed. Maintain equipment inventory, ensure Title IX compliance, and represent Converse University at conferences. Work Sunday through Saturday with varying hours, including after-hours commitments, and hold a valid South Carolina driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in competitive swimming or swim coaching
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Commitment to liberal arts education
  • Compliance with the University's Service Expectations
  • Valid SC Driver's License
  • Education of and adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference, department, and University regulations that relate to recruiting, daily program management, operation of the individual sport and general success of the program

  • 1+ years of intercollegiate coaching experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge base of athletic conditioning, team training, and athlete safety
