Job Summary
Assistant Meat Manager role supporting the Department Manager to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence in a fast-paced grocery environment. Responsible for coaching and developing the team, leading regular huddles, executing departmental strategies, ensuring outstanding customer service, accurate merchandising and rotation, staffing coverage, and maintaining department cleanliness. Provides office and administrative support including inventory management, ordering, invoicing, scheduling, and payroll functions. Ensures compliance with Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies and provincial regulations. Requires completion of a post-secondary program with emphasis in business and at least 1 year of supervisory/management experience, strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, ability to work with various computer software, and the stamina to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional heavy lifting; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business
- Minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while effectively managing competing priorities
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with clear, professional communication
- Comfort learning and using manual and automated systems, with prior experience with a variety of computer software programs
- Willingness to work extended periods of standing, with potential heavy lifting and work in cooler/freezer environments
- Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset
