Job Summary
Assistant Meat Manager responsible for collaborating with the Department Manager to deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence in a supermarket setting. Key duties include supporting daily department operations, leading team huddles, coaching and developing staff, ensuring accurate merchandising and rotation, managing inventory, scheduling and payroll-related tasks, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and contributing to achieving departmental goals. Requires post-secondary business-focused education and at least 1 year of supervisory/management experience, plus strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; English fluency with French considered an asset; comfort using various computer software programs; ability to work in cooler/freezer environments and perform physically demanding tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary program with emphasis in business
- minimum 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience
- ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset
- comfort with computer software and systems
- experience in inventory management, scheduling, payroll functions
- health & safety and food handling knowledge
