Job Summary
Oversee daily meat department operations, including ordering, receiving, cutting, packaging, stocking, and inventory management to maintain proper levels and minimize shrink. Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting with product selection, resolving concerns, and promoting sales through effective merchandising and promotional displays. Lead and develop associates through training, coaching, and shift coverage in the absence of the Meat Manager, ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements. Achieve department sales, gross profit, and labor objectives while maintaining clean, organized work areas and operating meat processing equipment safely.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous meat, seafood, grocery, or retail experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance when necessary
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments
- Ability to safely operate knives, slicers, grinders, saws, and other meat processing equipment
