Assistant Materials Controller

Job Summary
Load and unload deliveries while observing Health and Safety and Manual Handling procedures. Oversee receipt of goods into the store, check for defects, and file delivery notes against orders, indicating discrepancies to suppliers and site management. Transport materials using pallet trucks, deliver items to tradespersons, and maintain accurate stock control records including monthly inventories. Monitor supplies to notify site managers of stockouts or defects, dispose of waste safely per HSE regulations, and ensure the site remains clean and tidy. Complete and maintain all documentation in accordance with PiLON Procedures and attend relevant health and safety training courses.
Required Qualifications
- Health and Safety and Manual Handling procedures knowledge
- Ability to check for defects in goods and materials
- Ability to check delivery notes against goods received and the order placed
- Ability to indicate discrepancies to supplier, site management and procurement department
- Ability to file delivery notes as required
- Ability to oversee and help loading of site vehicles
- Ability to hand or deliver materials to Tradespersons
- Ability to complete and maintain accurate records and paperwork
- Ability to maintain and care for all company tools
- Ability to keep the site clean and tidy
- Ability to transport materials using pallet trucks
- Ability to handle equipment as required
- Ability to dispose of waste materials safely in line with HSE regulations
- Ability to monitor supplies and notify relevant site manager of stockouts and material defects
- Ability to maintain all documentation in accordance with PiLON Procedures
- Ability to keep accurate stock control and run monthly inventories
- Ability to work in accordance with any training and instructions given
- Ability to bring to the attention of the company any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
- Ability to attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety courses arranged by the company
- Ability to undertake all work to a high standard with minimal risk to Health and Safety
- Ability to be responsible for own safety and all around
- Ability to wear appropriate clothing and PPE
- Ability to work with others
- Ability to provide a courteous and considerate service to members of the public
