Job Summary
Assistant Manager will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop a high-performance team, drive sales and profitability, and uphold World Market’s values and standards. Responsibilities include modeling a customer-first selling culture, analyzing business trends, planning daily tasks, recruiting and coaching staff, enforcing Loss Prevention and inventory controls, ensuring safety, and executing operations and merchandising priorities. Requires at least 2+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment, strong communication, problem-solving and delegation skills, adaptability to a flexible schedule (nights/weekends/holidays), and physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced specialty retail environment preferred
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 40 lbs. as needed
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays based on business needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to coach/lead a high-performance team
- Ability to recruit, develop, and retain a customer-focused team
- Experience with loss prevention policies and inventory management
