Job Summary
Assistant Manager for Goodwill retail store in South Bend, IN. Supports Store Manager, supervises store personnel in their absence, and handles cashiering, training, and customer service duties. Responsibilities include cash handling, pricing and promotions, loss prevention, stock procedures, banking deposits, giving promotional announcements, and staff supervision. Requires ability to work a flexible schedule, pass a drug screen and background check, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, and to lift and move items as part of store operations. Familiarity with SharePoint, textile audits, and maintaining store safety and security is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current drivers license and insurance
- Must be bondable
- Must pass drug screen before receiving store keys and random drug test thereafter
- Results of limited criminal history check must meet company standards
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; open and close the store and work long days, as necessary
- Ability to carry out established organizational and departmental policies as described in the Employee Handbook
- Must have prior experience in dealing with the public and the ability to do so tactfully
- Must be able to pass drug screen before receiving store keys and random drug test thereafter
- Ability to fill in as production supervisor or fill in at other locations as needed
- Must be able to move in a standard retail environment with significant dust
- Quality and customer service oriented behavior
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
