Job Summary
Assistant Manager Warehouse role focusing on leading raw material and packaging-material receipt, storage, issuance, and stock accuracy; ensure FIFO and timely GRNs, maintain stock levels, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations (LEAN/5S/Kaizen) with SAP S/4HANA expertise and strong team leadership in a Pune, India manufacturing setting.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in the manufacturing industry
- hands-on responsibility for warehouse and plant logistics operations
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including GRN, raw material issuance, stock taking, cycle counts, stock reconciliation, dispatch activities, safety standards, FIFO, KPI tracking, and team management
- At least 2 years of experience using SAP S/4HANA for warehouse and inventory transactions
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to liquidate rejected materials in warehouse
- Minimize dead stock and slow-moving inventory on periodic basis
- Coordinate with Planning Team for Inbound vehicle planning for zero pendency daily
- Coordinate with QA team for quality inspections and approvals
- Implement best practices (LEAN, 5S, Kaizen) and improve warehouse handling and storage conditions
- Drive safety standards within RM operations and ensure PPE adherence within the team
- Develop capability & talent within team for operational efficiencies
- Standardized process & procedures for RM operations
- Adherence to Internal Control Procedures (ICP)
- Flagging promptly and proactively any potential supply issues and share solutions
- Personally, reviewing and effectively establishing a thorough and well-documented sign-off process
- To ensure no degradation in quality and quantity of Raw Material into and out of the warehouse
- Responsible for submitting weekly, monthly and yearly report as required by Management on a regular and prompt basis and daily tracker with stock availability as per weekly production plan
- Meeting cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
- Plan manpower deployment and shift schedules effectively
- Conduct training on SOPs, systems, and safety practices
- Develop a high-performance and accountable team culture
- Good Team Leader
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, Manpower management, regulatory compliance, and IR compliance
- Computer Skills: MS Office and SAP/WMS proficiency
