Job Summary
Assistant Manager Trainee (Part-Time) at Big 5 Sporting Goods. An entry-level, transitory management-path role designed to develop leadership and store-management skills through a structured training program over approximately 6–18 months. Responsibilities include delivering excellent customer service, answering inquiries, recommending products and add-ons, merchandising and policy compliance, setting promotional signage, stockroom retrieval, maintaining a clean and fully stocked sales floor, receiving merchandise, assisting with store opening/closing, training new associates, directing sales and cashier teams, enforcing loss prevention policies, and performing additional duties as assigned. Requires 21+ and a High School diploma/GED, with flexible scheduling and E-Verify participation. Pay range: $17.20–$17.80 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Exam
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic organizational and/or applicable math skills
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
