Assistant Manager - Supply Chain & Marine Logistics

Job Summary
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments for vessel spares, consumables, and project cargo across the GCC, managing supplier follow-up, tracking, and inventory visibility within JAFZA. Arrange deliveries to vessels at ports, anchorages, and drydocks while liaising with masters, agents, and authorities to ensure on-time arrival and minimize downtime. Execute customs clearance, documentation, and regulatory compliance for temporary imports and exports, resolving shipment exceptions and validating shipping documents. Serve as the primary operational contact for customers, providing proactive updates and coordinating with warehouse, transport, and marine service providers. Monitor operational KPIs, review performance metrics, and implement cost-reduction strategies and SOPs to enhance service quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or marine operations
- 2-3 years of supervisory or people‐management experience
- Strong understanding of international logistics, Incoterms, carrier contracts, and rate mechanisms
- Experience handling JAFZA operations and UAE customs procedures
- Exposure to marine logistics, vessel support, offshore logistics, or drydock operations
- Strong system proficiency, including CargoWise or similar logistics platforms
- Experience supporting offshore, oil & gas, marine, or shipyard customers
- Knowledge of GCC port operations, drydock facilities, and vessel husbandry services
- Experience managing time-critical marine spare deliveries
- Experience dealing with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and marine agents
- Effective coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work within defined strategies while contributing practical, execution‐focused insights
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‐solving skills
