Assistant Manager - Supply Chain & Marine Logistics

Job Summary
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments for vessel spares, consumables, and project cargo while managing supplier follow-up, inventory visibility, and warehousing activities within JAFZA. Arrange critical deliveries to vessels at ports, anchorages, and drydocks by liaising with masters, agents, and port authorities to minimize downtime. Ensure full compliance with JAFZA documentation, customs declarations, and UAE regulations while resolving shipment exceptions and maintaining accurate operational reports. Serve as the primary contact for customers, providing proactive updates and participating in performance reviews to drive cost reduction and lead time improvements. Requires 5-10 years of logistics experience, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency in CargoWise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or marine operations
- 2-3 years of supervisory or people‐management experience
- Strong understanding of international logistics, Incoterms, carrier contracts, and rate mechanisms
- Experience handling JAFZA operations and UAE customs procedures
- Exposure to marine logistics, vessel support, offshore logistics, or drydock operations
- Strong system proficiency, including CargoWise or similar logistics platforms
- Experience supporting offshore, oil & gas, marine, or shipyard customers
- Knowledge of GCC port operations, drydock facilities, and vessel husbandry services
- Experience managing time-critical marine spare deliveries
- Experience dealing with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and marine agents
- Effective coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work within defined strategies while contributing practical, execution‐focused insights
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‐solving skills
