Job Summary
Assistant Manager supporting the General Manager in the Customs Compliance Department (CCD), focusing on tariff impact mitigation, tariff cost recovery, benefit utilization, and customs-related reporting. Responsible for coordinating tariff-related data collection, analysis, and reporting across CCD, Sales, Business Units, Corporate Business Planning, brokers, and external partners; primary 80/20 allocation between CCD and Corporate Planning with direct reporting to the CCD General Manager. Key duties include coordinating monthly tariff impact reporting, overseeing data collection/validation/alocation by customer/broker/origin/HTS code/country of origin/import value/duty type, coordinating monthly tariff impact P&L analysis, supporting customer tariff recovery discussions, reviewing CBP Form 7501 data for tariff exposure and mitigation, coordinating with brokers on ACE/invoice/HTS data, leading or supporting Section 232 credit applications and other tariff-avoidance opportunities, tracking FY25 PSC/IEEPA progress with brokers, monitoring policy changes and communicating impacts, maintaining status tracking for open items, and developing workload-reduction initiatives. Requires strong Excel/data analysis skills; experience with Power BI/SQL/Smartsheet/Access preferred; excellent communication and cross-functional leadership; 8-10 years progressive experience with supervisory background; BS in related field preferred; salary and benefits package described.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, international trade, finance, accounting, or related field preferred
- Experience in customs compliance, tariff management, import/export, logistics, business planning, or financial analysis preferred
- Working knowledge of U.S. import processes, customs broker activity, CBP Form 7501, HTS classification, country of origin, import value, and duty calculation preferred
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills required; Power BI, SQL, Smartsheet, Access, or similar reporting tools preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, follow-up, project coordination, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Ability to manage recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements
- Supervisory, team leadership, or project leadership experience preferred
- 8-10 years progressive experience including 2-4 years as Superintendent or similar supervisory capacity
