Job Summary
Assistant Manager at SONIC Drive-In supports the General Manager in all drive-in operations, trains and coaches Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops, directs staff to meet food service standards, and handles opening/closing duties. The role involves monitoring staffing and inventory, assisting with food-cost control, maintaining records and documentation, and reinforcing a customer-service focus to ensure a positive guest experience. Requirements include flexible hours (nights, weekends, holidays), prior restaurant management or retail supervisory experience, strong communication, math, reading, and computer skills, ability to follow directions, multi-tasking, and adherence to appearance and hygiene standards. Qualifications emphasize leadership and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience required
- Experience running shifts without supervision
- General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations
- Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills
- Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems
- Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC
- Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset
- Leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop teams
