Job Summary
Oversee club operations and staff when the General Manager is unavailable, managing up to 20 Team Players and handling performance management, hiring, and onboarding. Conduct daily club inspections, assign cleaning tasks, and audit paperwork while ensuring compliance with Excel and Planet Fitness policies. Support the GM with HRIS approvals for payroll, timecards, and job requisitions, manage inventory orders, and lead team meetings. Maintain availability for operational emergencies and off-peak season support, including on-call rotations during peak sales. Assist with marketing activities and community outreach, ensuring all team members adhere to company standards and maintain current certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HS diploma or equivalent
- CPR/AED certification
- Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise the work of others
- Familiar with Excel mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements
- Demonstrated the ability, confidence, and leadership to manage a team
- Effective communication skills with internal and external customers
- Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized
- Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively
- Must have the ability to handle difficult situations and deal with sensitive and highly confidential information
- Basic understanding in Microsoft Excel and Word; DataTrak; Workday; Service Channel; and other related applications
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for overnights
- Must be available to work outside of the established work schedule
- Must be available for employee events, trainings, and conferences
- Up to 5% travel
