Job Summary
Assistant Manager at S&G provides direct support to the store manager, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with laws and Company policies. Responsibilities include customer service leadership, supervising employees, maintaining store appearance, fostering customer satisfaction, developing leaders, responding to emergencies, executing merchandising and marketing programs (including plan-o-gram integrity and signage), maximizing sales, monitoring transactions, ensuring foodservice product freshness, and completing store reports and performance appraisals. Requires High School Diploma or GED, supervisory/retail experience preferred, completion of required training programs, strong communication, knowledge of retail operations, and ability to handle safety incidents. Physical duties include lifting, bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds; must be available for varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Retail experience a plus
- Completion of Assistant Store Manager Training program and other required training programs
- Knowledge of retail business management practices
- Knowledge of store transactions and related programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to research and resolve issues
- Vehicle required to conduct price surveys
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Availability to work varied shifts including weekends/evenings
