Job Summary
Assistant Manager at S&G reports to the Store Manager and provides customer-service leadership for the store team, ensuring policies are followed, cleanliness and merchandising standards are maintained, and sales initiatives are executed. Responsible for developing staff, responding to emergencies, overseeing merchandising and plan-o-gram integrity, tracking store performance through required reports and paperwork, and ensuring a safe, customer-focused environment. Requires supervisory experience and completion of the company’s Assistant Store Manager training and related certifications; strong communication, knowledge of retail systems, and ability to manage store operations, pricing surveys, and employee safety across varied shifts including weekends and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Retail experience a plus
- Completion of the Assistant Store Manager Training program and other relevant Company required training programs and required certifications
- Good understanding of Company systems and technology
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues
- Knowledge of retail business management practices
- Knowledge of all types of store transactions and related programs
- Knowledge of ways to handle customer and employee injuries, incidents and accidents
