Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager at S&G serves as direct support to the Store Manager, ensuring the store operates efficiently and in compliance with laws and Company policies; manages employees and collaborates with the Store Manager to maximize sales and profits while maintaining asset controls. Responsibilities include customer service leadership for the store and team, enforcing company policies, maintaining a clean and organized store, fostering a customer-service oriented environment, developing leaders and driving staff productivity, responding to emergencies for safety, executing merchandising and marketing programs with plan-o-gram integrity, educating staff on selling initiatives, monitoring transactions for proper procedures, ensuring foodservice products are fresh, completing store reports and performance appraisals, and supporting pricing surveys and area pricing initiatives. The role requires high school level education or GED, retail/customer service experience, supervisory experience preferred, completion of required training/certifications, strong communication skills, knowledge of retail operations and technology, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work varying shifts including weekends and evenings.
