Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Pet Supermarket responsible for supporting the Store Manager, supervising Shift Managers and staff, driving sales, customer experience, and ensuring store operations, inventory, and labor planning align with budgets and brand standards. Key duties include leading a high-energy team, coaching and developing employees, maintaining safety and cleanliness (including livestock care), managing daily store communications, and assisting in recruitment, training, and community engagement. Requires retail-management experience, ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, and comfort working around animals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in a retail management role
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- College degree an asset
- Experience around animals
