Job Summary
Assist in the management and operations of Break Time convenience store, including serving as acting manager in the manager’s absence, coaching and mentoring team members, and assisting with store finances and controls. Responsibilities include delivering excellent customer service, supervising day-to-day store operations (reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, fuel management, maintenance), executing merchandising and promotions, providing shift supervision in the manager’s absence, ensuring food service and food safety, maintaining communications with customers and vendors, and supporting achievement of sales and expense goals. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic math for change, shift reporting, and inventory checks is required. The role emphasizes leadership, training, policy adherence, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced retail environment. 18+ with valid US eligibility, ability to work weekends/holidays, and successful pre-employment background check and drug test. Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds and operate in cold environments, plus ability to communicate in English.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from bank
- Strong customer service skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Works well individually and in leading a team
- Ability to perform assigned duties with accuracy and with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products during vendor check in
- Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler with temperatures as low as 30 degrees for up to one hour, and to move and position products in the freezer with temperatures as low as 0 degrees
- Physical ability to both move and position yourself to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to remain in a standing position for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability and willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders to handle inventory or products
- Ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety concerns.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background check and drug test.
