Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager duties include assisting with store operations, customer service and team development. Responsibilities involve helping with day-to-day store activities, addressing customer questions, organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor, and maintaining seasonal areas. The role requires performing opening/closing procedures, processing directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests), and supporting payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts. The assistant manager will help maintain promotional displays, oversee merchandise ordering and damaged goods, ensure loss prevention, keep the store clean and presentable, and support the Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates while fostering a positive, safe, and professional environment. Emphasis on strong communication, customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills, with adaptability to a high-energy team setting and adherence to company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
