Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager position to support store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day store activities, helping customers, organizing and transferring merchandise between delivery, stockroom, and sales floor, executing opening and closing procedures, processing directives and communications, maintaining promotional displays, assisting in ordering and loss prevention, payroll and scheduling paperwork, ensuring a clean and well-stocked store, protecting assets, enforcing policies and safety guidelines, and mentoring Store Associates to foster a positive, professional environment. Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required
