Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager role overseeing store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day store activities, guiding customer interactions, organizing merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor, performing opening/closing procedures, processing corporate directives, maintaining promotional displays, assisting in ordering and payroll/scheduling, handling cash deposits and receipts, and enforcing loss prevention measures. Supervises and trains store associates, ensures a positive, safe, and respectful environment, maintains store cleanliness and stockroom organization, and adheres to company policies. Requires strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Store management experience in retail/grocery/drug store environment preferred
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics)
