Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager assists with store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities include helping with day-to-day store activities, guiding merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, executing opening/closing procedures, processing corporate directives and payroll/scheduling tasks, maintaining promotional displays, ordering and processing merchandise, managing stockrooms and loss prevention, ensuring store areas are well-stocked and presentable, and training/developing Store Associates while maintaining a positive, safe environment for customers and staff. The role requires strong communication and problem-solving abilities, adherence to company policies and safety guidelines, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and work in a high-energy team setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem solving and decision-making skills are required
