Assistant Manager I

Job Summary
Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities, including organizing merchandise from delivery trucks to the sales floor and maintaining seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures, process corporate directives, and ensure promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays. Manage inventory by ordering and processing damaged merchandise, while handling record keeping for payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits, and loss prevention. Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards, protecting all company assets including store cash. Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates to ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment. Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines, and maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
Required Qualifications
- ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc.)
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.

- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment
