Job Summary
Assistant Manager responsible for assisting the Store Manager with overall store operations and administrative duties, including determining methods to accomplish store goals. The role requires knowledge across product areas, adherence to policies and standards in the visual/manual guides, and a commitment to outstanding customer service. The Assistant Manager assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence and is trained in Store Manager responsibilities; duties include supporting selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, scheduling, personnel recruiting/training/evaluation, inventory awareness, and ensuring profitable operations while protecting assets and maintaining internal controls. The position emphasizes directing staff to meet department responsibilities, delivering extraordinary customer service, promoting services and merchandise, and upholding company policies across operations.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits
- Self-starter with initiative
- Attention to detail with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise
