Assistant Manager-Fund Accounting

Job Summary
Manage client relationships and review financial statements, including waterfall calculations under GAAP and OCBOA, while ensuring SBA compliance reporting and capital call/distribution accuracy. Lead staff through career development, supervision, and training, and identify process improvements for the client service team. Assist internal teams with deliverables, document management, and time tracking, applying advanced Excel skills and US GAAP knowledge. This role supports special projects and requires experience in portfolio/investment accounting, team delegation, and meeting strict deadlines. Located in Livingston, NJ, with a hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Accounting
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience in portfolio/investment and partnership accounting
- Experience leading a team
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Thorough understanding of key terms of fund documents
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF, XIRR, SUBTOTAL, ROUND, named ranges)
- Able to multitask and perform tasks under strict deadlines
- Experience delegating, training, and supervising multiple staff
- Experience managing multiple client relationships
- Strong professional verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
