Job Summary
Oversee food service operations at assigned galleys, ensuring meals are properly prepared and served while maintaining sanitary dining areas, equipment, and utensils. Supervise and train a workforce of 20 to 100 employees, including temporary staff, by preparing daily assignments and conducting regular inspections throughout shifts. Implement organizational goals by evaluating data, reporting findings, and contributing to policy development and budget decisions regarding vendors and projects. Complete required documentation accurately and champion community engagement initiatives through volunteer opportunities and industry participation.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of college education or experience equivalency
- Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Must be able to pass the ServSafe test and maintain the qualification
- Must be capable of managing an hourly work force between 20 and 100 employees
- Must have own vehicle and a valid driver's license REAL ID
- Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID as a Navy requirement
- Must hold a U.S. Passport
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
- Must have visual acuity greater than 20/200
- Must have peripheral vision greater than 20 degrees

- Familiarity with Goodwill Great Lakes food service operations budget
- Experience providing input into spending decisions, particularly as pertains to vendors, systems, and projects
- Experience working on projects and initiatives that span 12 months to 2 years
- Experience implementing organization's goals and providing input into strategic goals
- Experience conducting research, evaluating data, and reporting on findings
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs
- Experience leading and developing talent by partnering with coworkers to advance their development
- Experience serving as a team member or subject matter expert for formal or department projects
- Experience contributing ideas and developing solutions while balancing project work and routine job responsibilities
- Experience engaging effectively in change and communicating appropriately with supervisors
