Job Summary

Assistant Manager Food Service assists the Food and Beverage Manager by providing leadership, training, and support for all food service team members and by enhancing guest experience through quality control of goods and services. Responsibilities include supervising food and beverage staff, scheduling shifts within budget, conducting pre- and post-shift briefings, operating kitchen and kiosk equipment, enforcing park policies, implementing disciplinary actions, conducting ongoing employee training, maintaining guest service standards, ensuring health sanitation compliance (ServSafe), maintaining inventory, and assisting customers with facility layout and amenities. Requires strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and ability to work long days in a park environment; certifications such as Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Alcohol Seller/Server and Food Handler's Permit are required or must be obtained prior to work.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Experience in department or equivalent supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and is self-motivated and self-directed along with ability to solve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, customers and staff members
  • Be aware, attentive, and work well with others
  • Energy and enthusiasm for long days
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions and take precautions, to include hydration, and sun-protection
  • Must have or be willing to obtain the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Alcohol Seller/Server Certification
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler's Permit
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, move, and/or position items weighing up to or in excess of 50 pounds, to include being able to lift and lower and carry 25 pounds above shoulder level
  • If you do not have a Texas state approved and current Food Handler's Permit and/or TABC Certification, you will be required to obtain one before being permitted to work.
