Job Summary
Engineer-facing role: Lead design and development activities for structural parts and chassis of air-conditioners, including CAD-enabled design reviews, tool/mould development, DFM&A, tolerance analysis, and collaboration with suppliers to deliver high-quality automotive/HVAC components. Responsibilities include guiding the team, allocating CAD resources, performing design validation and testing, reviewing tooling requirements, and driving continuous improvement across the NPD process. Requires strong 3D/2D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, ProE/Creo, AutoCAD, Unigraphics NX), knowledge of tool design and machining, material properties, and experience with design data management, FMEA/RRCA, and supplier support. Excellent English communication and leadership skills are essential, with a self-starter mindset to balance workload and prioritize deliverables. Required Qualifications
- Education PREFERRED: Bachelors / master’s degree in mechanical engineering; Diploma in Tool Design (preferred)
- EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 7+ years of design & development for parts & tool, mould
- Essential Competencies/ Primary Skill Set: Strong new product design & development competence on structure/ chassis design
- Experience in 3D/2D software & CAE tools (SolidWorks, ProE/Creo, AutoCAD, Unigraphics Nx)
- Understanding of tool & mould development; knowledge of tool design & machining
- DFM&A knowledge; experience in structural, qualification & reliability testing
- Rich knowledge of material properties; dimensioning & tolerance analysis
- Machine/tool process knowledge for development of parts; CAD management
- VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering); English communication; leadership & team guidance
- Understanding of entire new product development process; ability to adapt to complex environment
