Assistant Manager – Business & Tax Advisory

Job Summary
Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns, and Business Activity Statements for diverse entity types including companies, trusts, partnerships, and corporate groups. Deliver tax compliance and advisory services to private businesses, family groups, and listed companies by advising on Division 7A requirements and structural tax implications. Review work prepared by junior team members to ensure technical accuracy while coaching and mentoring Consultants and Senior Consultants. Support Managers and Partners in delivering complex client engagements and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients. Manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines within Australian taxation legislation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements
- Ability to balance compliance delivery with commercial and advisory thinking
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience within Australian Business Services and Tax Advisory, ideally at Senior Accountant, Senior Analyst or Assistant Manager level
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and BAS
- Familiarity with a broad range of entity structures including companies, trusts, partnerships and corporate groups
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements
- Experience working with private businesses, family groups and entrepreneurial clients
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines
- Experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior team members
- Experience gained within a public practice accounting environment, preferably within a mid-tier or large accounting firm
- In progress or completed CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification
