Job Summary

Develop and implement a comprehensive employee benefits strategy that aligns with organizational goals, evaluating plans, contracts, and documents to minimize risks while maximizing offerings at minimal cost. Research emerging benefit practices, design packages including health insurance and wellness programs, and utilize claims analysis to address prevalent health conditions. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA by working with brokers to maintain accurate filings and adjusting programs to legislative changes. Manage the benefits budget, process vendor invoices, and generate data-driven reports to track projections and outcomes. Lead annual open enrollment, oversee FMLA processes, and respond to employee inquiries regarding claims and plan details. Mentor the benefits team, conduct monthly meetings, and build relationships with insurance providers and brokers to negotiate contracts and manage costs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • five years related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive experience in benefits management
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations at meetings
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • Chartered Insurance Broker (CIB) status (after 5 years of experience)

Desired Qualifications
