Job Summary
Assistant Maintenance supports the maintenance supervisor, ensuring safety-first operations and adherence to policies. Responsibilities include handling resident service requests (completed within 24 hours), scheduling on-call rotations, assisting with property upkeep and inspections, maintaining preventive maintenance records, diagnosing and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, appliances, doors, locks, lighting, and related equipment, and aiding in preparing for inspections. The role requires basic maintenance skills across trades, strong communication, and the ability to work at multiple locations as needed, with potential on-call and standby emergency duties.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade (electric, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA refrigerant transition and recovery certification
- Technical certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within major metropolitan areas and possibly overnight stays
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
