Job Summary
Assign janitorial duties to staff, regularly inspect their work, and issue cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Take inventory of all supplies, ensure compliance with NYC Sanitation Dept regulations, and assist with screening new applicants. Provide training and guidance to janitorial staff, resolve conflicts efficiently, and respond to emergency calls to rectify existing conditions. Escort extermination contractors during service visits and assist with preparation of annual building-wide inspections conducted by DHS, DOH, DOB, and FDNY. Address tenant concerns about janitorial conditions via meetings or written notices. Perform all necessary duties during staff shortages and attend required meetings and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years working in the building maintenance or janitorial fields
- Experience operating high speed buffer, trash compactor, snow removal equipment and other janitorial tools
- Proficiency in various cleaning methods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification preferred
- Some supervisory experience preferred
