Job Summary
Assistant Maintenance Supervisor supports the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day residential maintenance operations. This hands-on role completes work orders, assists with apartment turns/make-readies, troubleshoots maintenance issues (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, locks, lighting), and helps maintain safety, appearance, and functionality of the property. The candidate communicates professionally with residents, vendors, and team members, guides porter or maintenance staff when needed, participates in on-call rotations, and adheres to safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on maintenance experience
- Apartment maintenance, multifamily, residential property maintenance, or affordable housing experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have own basic tools
- Must have reliable transportation to report to the property and respond to on-call needs as required
- Must be comfortable participating in an on-call rotation
- HVAC/EPA certification preferred
- Certifications in HVAC, EPA, plumbing, electrical, or related trades are a plus
