Job Summary
Assistant Location Manager at Auto Ramp Services (ARS) within the PTI network, responsible for safe and quality handling of customer and company property, including movement of vehicles on/off railroad equipment. Works outdoors in all weather, coordinating unloaders and checkpoint personnel, monitoring performance, ensuring inventory control procedures, maintaining communication with railroad customers, promoting safety, and facilitating daily reporting. Requires operating vehicles (manual and automatic transmissions), ability to work in tight/narrow spaces, and adherence to PPE guidelines. Requires early start and weekend availability, with a focus on scheduling, safety, and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Full Time position
- Must be available to work weekends and some holidays
- Early morning start time @ 7:00 AM
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be dependable
- Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and an extensive background check
- Have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Physically demanding position and due to the nature of the environment; requires bending, squatting, leaning, and moving plates to span rail cars.
- Must be able to see and hear moving equipment.
- Not be afraid of heights
- Must be able to learn and follow very strict guidelines and to instruct employees of the same
