Job Summary
Supervise daily lending operations by coaching staff, conducting performance reviews, and making credit decisions for consumer and real estate loans. Review complex loan applications, assign loans to personnel, and prepare packages for the Loan Committee or Board of Directors. Monitor loan queues to ensure Service Level Agreements are met, oversee general ledger reconciliations, and assist with budget development and regulatory reporting. Provide recommendations on credit applications outside underwriting authority and collaborate with the AVP and CLO to achieve strategic goals. Assume AVP responsibilities during absence. Maintain NMLS registration and undergo background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of supervisory experience in a financial institution
- High school diploma with minimum of three years equivalent work experience in a financial institution
- Three to five years of loan underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of loan policies, procedures and credit granting practices
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Teamwork abilities
- Deep understanding of the lending industry
- Excellent collaborative skills
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations as they pertain to real estate and consumer lending
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks & deadlines
- Proficiency with 10-key, calculator, on-line data processing system and personal computers
- Strong working ability and understanding of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge and understanding of the mission and vision of the Credit Union
- Strict adherence to the Credit Union's policy of confidentiality, security, professional conduct and dress
- Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
- Ability to undergo a background check
- Ability to assume the responsibilities of the AVP of Lending during their absence
