Job Summary
Assistant Large Group Speech Coach role in Bondurant-Farrar Community School District. The coach leads and develops a large-group speech program, plans and schedules practices and optional off-season activities, instructs students in fundamentals and skills for competition, coordinates with staff and the Athletic Director, communicates with students, parents, staff, and the media, maintains records, and ensures safety and program discipline. Requires coaching endorsement/authorization; a Bachelor's degree with a teaching certificate is recommended. Seasonal assignment running October–February, part-time, with duties including program organization, equipment and inventory management, and ongoing professional development to support interscholastic speech activities.
Required Qualifications
- Coaching endorsement
- coaching authorization required
- B.A. or B.S. degree with teaching certificate recommended
- Ability to plan and schedule a regular program of practice
- Ability to communicate with students, staff, parents, community, and media
- Experience coaching in specific sport desired
- Lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds; ability to stay on feet for several hours
- Report to Superintendent of Schools and Athletic Director
- Familiarity with district policies and discipline guidelines
