Job Summary
Assist the Land Survey Party Chief in conducting various types of field surveys including boundaries and topographic surveys, and perform tasks such as setting up and maintaining survey instruments, measuring distances and elevations, and recording survey data. Required qualifications include significant field experience in surveying, knowledge of civil engineering, and educational credentials in civil engineering or related fields. The role entails maintaining survey notes, providing rapid field support for urgent requests, and ensuring safety at survey sites.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years full-time paid professional experience in performing routine, non-technical work in a surveying party, including one (1) year on the job field training or experience
- Experience interpreting civil engineering drawings
- Experience in data collection by setting up and operating total stations, levels, GPS, and measuring lines, elevations and positions
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or surveying, with courses in field surveying on both plane and route surveying
- Two (2) years of civil engineering course work and four (4) years of experience as a member of a field survey party performing land surveying work in making precise readings, measurements and tests in the field, including one (1) year of on-the-job field training
Desired Qualifications
- A valid Land Surveyor-In-Training Certificate, issued by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
