Job Summary
Perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, and skin puncture while preparing send-out tests and assisting in chemistry, hematology, and microbiology areas. Manage laboratory processing and billing systems using LIS software, troubleshooting automated instrument issues and coordinating duties to relieve Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Maintain BCLS certification and demonstrate proficiency in operating laboratory equipment while communicating effectively in English. Requires two years of phlebotomy experience, four years in a clinical laboratory setting, and strong computer skills. Full-time 4am-12:30pm shift with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or its equivalent experience
- Two years of experience as a phlebotomist
- Certified for venipuncture and skin puncture CPT
- Be able to communicate well in English both in writing and verbally
- Minimum of four years of experience in a clinical laboratory with at least two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician a lead laboratory assistant, and or a Lab Assistant Supervisor, or show equivalent experience
- Have at least two years of LIS experience and computer knowledge, or show proficiency
- Have good organizational skills
- Have some experience with the operation of any automated chemistry, hematology, or microbiology experience
- Work well under supervision and in times of stress
- BCLS Card (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain
