Job Summary
Assist the Kitchen Manager in planning and directing food preparation and kitchen operations while ensuring recipes are followed with precision. Train cooks and kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards, and monitor their progress against goals. Lead quality control efforts to enforce food safety, compliance with guidelines, and proper temperature logging. Supervise kitchen activities to maintain a productive, clean workspace and oversee inventory, ordering, and storage to control costs. Step in to manage operations when the Kitchen Manager is unavailable and collaborate with upper management to drive guest satisfaction. Requires minimum 3 years of high-volume management experience, a Bachelor's degree or culinary certification, and the ability to lift 50 pounds in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of high-volume, full-service restaurant management experience
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role
- Must be able to see, hear and speak (verbally and audibly)
- Required to ascend and descend stairs
- Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stoop and kneel
- May be required to work outside in various weather conditions
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment
- Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state
- Must disclose prescribed and/or over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that may impair or affect the ability to perform the job's essential functions
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or culinary school certification preferred
