Job Summary
Conduct individual and team instruction on fundamentals, strategy, and physical conditioning while prioritizing athletics as a supplemental program to the school's academic mission. Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling contests, planning practice programs, and enforcing code of conduct standards with established penalties for breaches. Maintain attendance forms, insurance records, and facility safety oversight for student athletes during all times present. Recommend equipment and supplies as appropriate while ensuring academic eligibility criteria are met. Work effectively with frequent interruptions, exercise good judgment, and communicate clearly in English.
Required Qualifications
- Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Knowledge and/or background in the assigned sport
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Valid drivers license
- Must have knowledge of South Carolina High School League rules and eligibility
- Must be cooperative, service-oriented, and able to work effectively with frequent interruptions
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to exercise good judgment, organize tasks, follow written and verbal directions, and communicate effectively
- Must have the physical and mental ability to fulfill the essential functions of the above position with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching certificate and experience preferred
