Provide leadership and assist the principal in selecting, assigning, and evaluating athletic coaches and staff. Foster school-community relations by keeping the community responsive to the athletic program and conduct parent meetings prior to the season. Ensure the health and safety of student athletes by verifying valid physical examinations, enforcing proper first aid procedures, and following all emergency protocols. Promote positive relationships with parents and athletes while ensuring the sports program complies with South Carolina High School League rules and district regulations. Maintain appropriate behavior for coaching staff, players, and personnel, and attend scheduled coaches' meetings and rules clinics. Sustain the program through fundraising, youth camps, and team camps.
