Job Summary
Monitor supervision of team and student athletes after school hours and supervise home and away athletic events as scheduled. Collaborate with the Athletic Director to develop schedules for athletic events including practice schedules. Travel to schools throughout the division and the central office while performing duties that require lifting up to 50 pounds. Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills and adhere to the appropriate code of ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Knowledge of Virginia High School League policies, procedures and regulations
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Adherence to the appropriate code of ethics
- Must be able to lift up to approximately 40 pounds
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
- Must be able to travel to schools throughout the division and central office
- Must have vocal communication ability
- Must have hearing ability to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
- Must have visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
- Must be able to work under inside and outside environmental conditions
- Must be able to have regular contact with staff members, administrators, and parents
- Must be able to contact parents by phone and in person
- Must be recommended by the division superintendent
- Must be appointed by the school board
